A-Z of the Application Procedure; from first contact to arrival in
China

No matter whether you are a veteran teacher, a streetwise expat, a recent graduate
or at a turning point in your career: you have decided that you are now ready
for a challenging, unforgettable year in China. That's how you have arrived
at this stage, where we will provide you the channel to get there and land your
job in the smoothest way.

In this section, we will elaborate on the particulars of the application procedure.
It goes without saying that when it comes to concrete details, the condition
of each person is different. But here are the general rules of the game as they
apply to all applicants:

You fill in the Application form (to be found in this website) and submit it. Alternatively, you can download the form in WORD or PDF format via e-mail.

Send us your resume via e-mail (See Contact us to find our email address). A cover letter is only needed if you have specific items you wish to draw our attention to: e.g. when you will be accompanied by spouse and/or kids, or when your spouse or a friend is a candidate for a teaching position as well and you want to be placed in the same location or share an apartment.

Applicants will receive a letter acknowledging receipt of their resume and application form. We will evaluate your candidacy, and then send you an e-mail requesting the following documents:

- a copy of your passport

- a photo

- a copy of your diploma

One of our staff will talk to you over the phone and discuss your application.

We send all your materials and an evaluation report to the institutions. Before accepting a teacher, the institutions require a file consisting of all these elements. The employer will be selected based on your preferences, as mentioned on your application form: location, level, start date, etc. If you have no preferences, we will decide for you from the available positions.

Then we will send you the concrete job offer, with the details of the school, level that you will teach, etc. If there are several position available that match your preferences, we will send them all and you can choose the one that your prefer.

Then it is the time to negotiate with the institution about your salary and benefits package: condition of your free accommodation, working hours, holiday, internet access, etc.

Once that is agreed upon, you will sign the contract.

Invitation letters needed to obtain your Chinese entry visa are then sent to you.

The Chinese Embassy in your country will provide you with a health document. This document will be requested in China when you apply for a residence permit. You can either have the compulsory health check by a physician in your home country, or you can have it in a Chinese hospital. Conditions in the Chinese hospitals designated for foreigners are clean and up to standard. This health check is a standard procedure, well known to the Chinese hospitals that are allowed to carry them out. If you chose the last option, either your employer or we will inform you about which hospital you can go to.

At any stage of the procedure you are of course free to contact us with your questions, or enquire about your situation.
